Yes should be the same.

I never had much luck removing them until I bought the tool. Nice chunk of steel fits tightly over the flat spots of the pump shaft, quick rap with a drilling hammer and usually comes right off. 

Some use an adjustable wrench drove on to the flats others weld a couple wrenches together.
