Subject: RE: 1/16 th interest in farmland

West Union, Illinois

slowpoke2 -  Found out week ago had 1/16 th interest in a farm for 20 years that was my deceased husband family, that I was unaware of the other 3 siblings of my husband want's me to sigh over a quit claim deed to them with no compensation. what would you do?
There are a LOT of unanswered questions here.  How big a farm (is it worth the fuss?), what kind of relationship do you have with the family, how did you not know about it, etc.

My initial response is based on what little we know it appears you are the victim of fraud.  DO NOT sign anything or agree to anything.  Find a lawyer not involved with the family and ask him where things stand and what you should do?  If it costs you a few hundred dollars just to get things  straight in your mind it is worth it.
