Missouri | Hydraulic drive can be done a number of ways. My comments will refer specifically to the factory hydraulic drive package (which is available in a kit to add on to your planter).
The Kinze setup runs the entire planter, front and rear, left and right, with one drive motor. That one drive motor has ample torque for the entire planter. Because it drives from the center, the point row clutches will no longer function (driveshafts are being driven from behind the clutch now)
The Integra can variable rate the planter with any number of drives (1, 2, or 3). I am not certain if it will run both halves at different populations if your swath is straddling the edge of your prescription map, or not (but I doubt this. I think it would most likely set the whole planter to the rate corresponding to whichever prescription region is covered by 51% or more of the planter swath).
While the drive has ample torque, it will stall before twisting a shaft (7/8 hex shaft is really pretty beefy). | |
