Initially we were looking at just upgrading our trash wipers and adding row shutoffs, after pricing things we could go with the Precision system and it cost about the same per row as just the shut-offs and trash wipers. One of the other things we like about the system is that if we decide to go to a bigger planter we just take everything off this one, buy a few more units to match up with the new one and we're good to go.
We looked at it as a long term investment, and it is really, especially since we run planters for a very long time. We bought this planter 6 years ago and it replaced the planter Dad and Grandpa bought new in 1985.
