Sask. | dzluvr - 11/26/2014 10:34 thanks for the pic I used to farm with one of those in the seventies,,,,,,,,,,desired more power so swapped in a chev 327 V8 everyone laughed at me before they saw it perform ,,,,,,,,,, had to put duals onto it to keep the power to the ground,,,,,,,,,,then added power steering,,,,,,,,,,,drove it for more than 3000 hours with the swap Now that is an interesting transplant. I don't doubt the Cockshutt drive train could handle the extra power. They had a reputation of being over built and were a favourite amongst the tractor puller crowd. Only weakness I found was the splines on the rear axles tend to loosen up and wear to the point I can't tighten them any more. |
