Subject: RE: Backgrounding ration - NEm and NEg?

Beresford, SD
First 30 days after arrival my goal is to get them weaned and healthy. (not to concerned about gain) Feed about a 48 Neg from 500-750 then a 50 to 52 Neg until 900 then step them up to a 60 then about 40 days before delivery take final step to a 62. This is on light heifer calves wean (500-550) until finish 1420 pay weight Fed for 300 to 325 days. This program allows the calves to grow some frame before turning in to midget butterballs with a finish weight of 1150.
