I wouldn't do that, my hands would certainly complain. I would do a food processor with just one pulse for a second. Then dump out and separate the ones that didn't chop. Still tedious but not like cutting the way Barb has you doing them.

OK, you had me curious. I happen to have some dry roasted peanuts from Dave's mom here. I thought I had to try something. I just put a paper towel down to try it, but use wax paper would be better. I then put some peanuts down and took a big wide knife like a chef's knife, lay it flat over the nuts and just give it a side pound of your hand. Twice it it crushed, but not to dust. Let me know if it works.

edited to tell you if you do it this way and it works, you have to bring me one of those nut covered treats. Yes, I know I am suppose to be on a diet. grrrr
