Are they suctioning it out? or flushing your ear with warm water with a big syringe type tool? I've never heard of earwax being sucked out. but I've had my ears flushed out with warm water. Little uncomfortable when they do it. Some doctors good at it. Others not so much. but makes a big difference. Might have water in your ears a bit like you've been swimming under water for a while. But well worth it. I find that using ear plugs causes my ears to plug up with wax.

Try using a few drops of mineral oil in your troublesome ear in the evening for a bit. Softens the wax. I find that often helps. Gets rid of it by itself then.
