north west arkansas | I always use a half inch electric powered drill ran off a generator. As hard as they drill I don't think you will get along with your cordless drill. I sample about 1 out every 10 bales and put samples in a bucket and mix up and send 1 sample for each group of hay that came off of same cutting and field. I then put it in small brown paper bags and label them. I just then put my bags in a small box and sent it in. If the bales are wet on the outside i throw away the wet part of the sample so it don't mold up my sample. If you will google hay test in Kansas it will show you information for your state. Any more questions just ask. Taking hay samples seems like such a pain but is honestly very valuable information to a cattle producer. | |
