Subject: RE: working with family members and sharing equipment?

Clarke county, IA
I think dad and I are going to run into a problem one of these days with having the same goals in mind. Our end goal is the same, we both want to be profitable and make money. Our ways tend to be a little different though. I'd like to expand some to increase revenue, whether it be renting more ground or more custom work. Dad being 58 with all his ground paid for is very comfortable where he's at. This tends to make it hard for me to rent much more ground or get more custom without his approval due to him owning all the equipment at the moment. In the end even though there are days I think about leaving and never looking back we work through it, I'm sure there are days he'd wish I'd leave to. Communication is key. And when the kids are coming back to the farm but still living with mom and dad they need to be kicked out of the house. Working with someone tends to easier if you're not around them 24/7.
