Chebanse, IL.....

We have a fair amount of corn-on-corn....multiple years. Trash is a big concern.

We use aggressive snapping rollers in JD corn head.

Lime &/or Dap/K ahead of tillage

Fall Chisel plow 1x

Spring field cultivate 1x, occasionally 2x if we don't get back in to plant soon enough.

Following added by Edit

0 starter fertilizer on planter. Usually 30-60# of N added as UAN bcast w/herbicide before 1x fc.

Sidedress NH3.

We have basically no yield differences between 1st yr corn & COC rotations. In recent past yrs there has been seemingly less CRW pressure on multi yr corns. 1st yr corn had highest CRW pressure. Weed pressure might be a little higher on 2nd yr corn...but it's controllable. Volunteer corn might be a problem if it's thick enough.
