Northwest Missouri | I'm not an old timer, but I still farrow pigs like the old timers in huts on pasture. Never used a farrowing crate. Have some good a frame houses that I use in the winter. Wean pigs at 6 weeks, don't touch them before then. Just let them do what they do. Only time I've ever had health problems is when I have them all penned up in the winter. Much rather turn them all out and let the sows take care of them. | |
