Subject: RE: Loader bucket vs. snow pusher

Ripley, Ontario Canada
I run an 8 foot on a an 8785 agco allis (135hp mfwd). I could go wider but I do residential drive ways and can't go wider for cars. The snow pusher is way better than the bucket. The skid shoes on the pusher keep you from gouging the ground. The sides let you push a lot further without spilling snow. Since you are putting it on a tractor I would look for a heavy duty one with a steel edge. My 8 footer is a Reist welding with a roto trip edge and the cutting edge is only supported at each end and it is barley strong enough when you catch something. I have bent my pusher. Next one will have the cutting edge supported at least every 4 feet. The tractor has too much mass to stop if you catch something.

The pusher is not as good in really hard snow, the shoes ride over the snow and you have to go get the bucket then.
