what the hell? We loaded 240 head at 8.30 a.m. also so they can be there by noon. At 4:30 tonight I get a call that the plant is broke down and they don't know when they will get it fixed. So now Our cattle will be on the truck for 11-12 hours with no water or feed and have to come back home. These cattle are all contract cattle sold at a lower price and also sold in the beef(in the Meat). Another wrinkle is that the cattle were on opti-flex feed as of this morning yet. So the question is....... What is fair to us to be compensated for this screwing around, loss of weight, and probably loss of yield? What if one dies now before we ship out again? Who should cover the loss, us or the packing plant? And to top this off, this is the second time this has happen to US in the last 45 days!!!!!!! very frustrating.
Contract broken, by them, you and them need to start over. You need to be compensated for shrink and
trucking. Just common sense, they need to buy cattle, they better know that. |
