south east Indiana | You would have to check with a vet to see if the same procedure for a pig or lamb would work ok. For those I have used a rectal prolapse ring ( not sure what they called) and put that in the rectum then a band around it and the tissue that is sticking out. Basically 1/2 this plastic tube is inside the rectum and 1/2 out. The exposed tissue being banded losses blood supply and it dies, falls off and the plastic tube falls out.
I imagine that is not a great explanation. You can goggle rectal pro lapse and find photos and the procedure I am sure.
I would think that a laxative if stools are firm may be needed. The trick is to get him to stop straining. Maybe an anti inflammatory as well. | |
