I ALWAYS run outgoing mail up to the post office, and mail it inside the building, especially if it is a bill payment going out. Too many problems with pilfering, both here and in Ohio. We had to go to court up in Ohio, because someone stole an outgoing bill payment, added some zero's to the check amount and tried to cash it at a grocery store, about 15 miles away. Clerk spotted that the check was altered and called the sheriff, and they arrested the guy right in the store!
