Plug it in at least. We have found that adding HEET to the fuel works well and haven't had any problems with it. Otherwise in fall we only change oil in it. Those three things and our 4440 is going to break 9000 hours this winter and we haven't had a lick of trouble with it. We use it on the snowblower.
