Good clean fuel filters. Good batteries. Working block heater. Number one fuel. When it gets below zero I will slip a old seed sign in between the radiator and oil cooler. Seems like if you run them everyday they just work better.
The 4230 ran this mixer for three winters and this will be the second year on vt144. We also run a 4430 on a bale processor almost daily.
