northeastern Ohio | For corn silage, I would look at a poured cement silo with a "flying dutchman" bottom unloader. I have two of them and they are the cheapest to maintain and faster feedout when compared to a Harvestore.
It looks like a regular silo, but has a hopper bottom. The unloader is at the bottom of the hopper and a pole with chains goes up the center. You have to replace the chains every 5 years, but the cost is only about $1000 total. Compare to a Harvestore unloader that costs about $1000 per year in average maintenance costs.
