I have 2 of them and never had anything go over them or threw. I have had 500# and under crawl through if being pushed.
I really like them as fence line feeders.
I need to say I bought them used also.
The other one along the fence I have added a peace of 3/4 pipe 8" down from top to keep young calves from crawling through.
I use craigslist a lot.
