Ridgway, IL | Was rotating calves today. One appears drunk, stumbles, turned circles, fell down, disoriented.
When left alone, the calf grazes. Not getting any supplemental feed, only rye grass pasture and feedlot mineral, thiamin and rumensin in it.
The things that have recently changed are
Much colder weather, and started with the mineral.
Have been out there 45-60 days. Has been vaccinated. No sign of respiratory issue, just seems drunk?
Vet threw out inner ear infection as a possible?
