Subject: RE: Aquamax

There is not anything unique technology wise about Aqua Max hybrids from Pioneer. It's a marketing label Pioneer came up with to make farmers think the hybrids were developed with some high tech process that makes them withstand drought. Aqua Max was Pioneer attempt to circumvent Monsanto's drought Gard gene that was developed through genetic engineering. Breeders have been rating hybrids for decades for drought tolerance so not anything new about that. It's just marketing like Tide detergent....how many times have they reinvented the brand. While Monsanto's products contain a gene modification, it does make the better or worse than the Pionner products developed through conventional breeding.
