I second what Jared said. Merricks nipples are definitely the best(they last longer), and don't cut nipples open for regular use, The strong suction gets a lot more saliva mixed with the milk, which is very beneficial. When a bottle collapses once, it will be prone to doing it again. Collapsed bottles are not a big deal, since they usually spring back by the next feeding. Eventually they crack and get replaced. If I think about it, I will pair an old nipple with a weak bottle, but I usually don't bother.
