MN | Bingham Lake sells wet, so does Lake Crystal I think...I have hauled wet from Fergus Falls and made the price work - I think the last load I got from Fergus was $7/ton (so I could pay a little trucking on it.) I read somewhere that you can bag distillers - 50/50 wet/dry if I remember right. Probably work ok until it gets real cold. I can see that freezing pretty bad. There have been a lot of studies done that say the mod doesn't really hurt your steers when it turns funny colors - but it may decrease DMI if it stinks. The silo scares me...but I have never really done anything with a silo before.
I have been feeding wet and/or mod to 135 head with no trouble. My last ration was stalks, WDG, cracked corn - I was really happy with it...very cheap and seemed to put the weight on just fine. I am thinking about using that as my go-to finishing ration in the future. | |
