| Ah, Evian was Evian long before Dannon bought the business, it's the name of the local city. Still, you've got to wonder how water from a spring in the Alps (as if the U.S. did not have mountains of their own) can stay fresh after traveling across one continent or two and an ocean, especially in plastic containers, which leaks some chemicals which you won't find in naturally fresh water.
And there's Volvic, Vittel, Badoit, Perrier, and many Italian mineral waters too. The sparkling and sodium-rich Vichy mineral water is even used in some recipes, like Vichy carrots, in which carrots are sliced and cooked in Vichy water without any salt added. Maybe some of these mineral-rich mountain spring waters should be renamed from "fresh" to "salt" water. They have so much minerals that they should not be used in baby bottles when using dehydrated formula. | |
