Ottawa Valley, Eastern Ontario | I was dropping off some fertilizer to a dairy farmer customer of mine and we got to talking about custom haylage rates.His custom guy charges him $40/acre plus fuel. That includes merging, supplying three wagons and tractors with operators and the self-propelled JD harvester with operator.The farmer cuts the hay and supplies the tractor and blower for his tower silos. That rate sounds cheap to me but I'm not sure what the going rate is.What do the experts at Agtalk think?
