Cotton pickers have the valve stem inside toward the planetary and we've never had any break off. I've run through a lot of mud before and pickers have a tendency to build up between the frame and tires and when it does i bolt a chain through the hole in the rim around the tire to "scrape" the mud and leave a gap between the frame and tire.
