Near-north Ontario, French River | As others have said, break it down and remove the tire and tube before wielding it. For what it's worth we had a rim with a minor crack in it, we let the air out of the tube, broke the bead and welded up the crack. Let it cool down and aired it back up. Tire was flat again in a week. Not sure if the welding left a rough spot on the inside of the rim ( burn paint??) or the tube was weakened by heat from welding , but the tube failed in the same area. Do your welding, buff the area and give it a shot of primer to prevent rust ,re-install the tube and tire and you will be good to go. |
