Subject: RE: $1.00 per bushel on Corn and $2.50 on beans

west central MN

We had a plan that included the crop insurance prices and we took it to the first land owner that I thought would be interested in it. He was interested but came up with his own plan that is similar but only involves the local cash price. We like his plan too and are very happy to be working with him. We are now thinking if he wasn't sure about using crop insurance prices some of the other land owners would surely not understand crop insurance prices and we need something simpler for them. I think we are very fortunate to have the land owners that we do and their willingness to work with us. I have given good bonuses in the past and it seems like it is paying off now. It is not fair to the land owners to just lower their rent now when if we have weather issues the price of corn could go back up and it isn't fair to the farmers to make them pay high priced rents with the current cash prices.
