Well we got our rain.. so far only 1.25" but it must have come hard at times as now we got ponds on this past week's freshly sown wheat acres.. which will probably now need to be replanted.. ARRGGHH.. There's not a lot of seed wheat left in the country for this.. and it's pretty cold. We got a cold rain event last year around the 25th which was pretty much it for the growing season.. We sowed right ahead of that.. on irrigated and it was St Patricks day before that emerged.. dang lucky last year.
Golly this ought to put a good pop in the Soybean basis as this will STOP harvest here.. and if it doesn't I got more time now to sweep out more bins.
Wow.. doesn't look like this rain went down much past Enid..?? They really need some moisture down there on all that early sown wheat for pasture..??
Also.. thought this was quirky.. yesterday.. commentator.. "Wheat exports are low again.. as we remain uncompetitive on the world market.. we are HOWEVER AHEAD of USDA's forecast for the year.." ?!?
Going into Yesterday with the rally.. was in a mood to plant more wheat.. now I'm not.. If we don't have a shot for $6.50'ish or $7.00..?? Why bother..???
Man now we got to go back and fix the damage done.. oh well.. market sucks anyway.. less to sell later. |
