Problem with your logic is most of those things weren't adding anything to yield anyway.
so am I to assume then that you are using an old 494 planter with granular herbicides and no starter, and winning your local yield contest. I doubt it.
So are we to assume you're going to park you're state of the art planter next year and use a 494 because corn is no longer $8?
IMO, if we have good weather we'll knock out another big crop next year, if we have a drought equal to 2012 next year we'll have another crop like 2012.
Fertilizing/planting for 180 can still produce 220 if mother nature wants it to and if she's grouchy can produce 100 also.
