Subject: RE: Weaned calves going back with cows

Eastern Kansas
I had a heifer have trouble having a calf last spring. Calf didn't make it, she went down, took a week to get up. Kept her in lot for the next month til she could walk decent again and then took her to grass. Long story short an orphan calf on grass started nursing her and she's kept nursing it all summer. Brought them home last weekend and she's still nursing that calf, hasn't ever missed a beat. I was gonna send her, but think I'll see if she'll breed and keep her now.
