Subject: RE: local elevator calling around for corn?

west central MN

I know of a couple of ethanol plants around me that need more corn before harvest starts. I have about 30% of last years crop still sitting in the bin and have sold them some at a good basis for us. My corn has been price on the board for over a year and a half but there is still good carry in the market so why let it go if it isn't a real good basis. I think with farmer being busy and good carry in the market it is just hard for them to buy corn, not that there isn't any corn. The 2013 corn sitting in the bins might come back to hurt us because of a poor basis this summer but we had a late spring with way  more beans planted then corn this year.
