Regarding your edit, I'm confident the price of gold will be higher or lower three years hence, your guess is as good as mine.  The author in the referenced post made the following predictions: In the "immediate" future we will experience a stock market crash more severe than 2008, the price of gold will be "dramatically" higher or lower than today, and with hyperinflation in the economy. I say "horse hooey."
