Subject: RE: My Feed guy

Glad to see parents that make their kids do the work! I have a nephew that is a HS junior that hardly ever works on his calves and it's not that this kid has anything to be scared of, he's an athletic kid who is over 6 ft tall and 225lbs and is just too lazy and doesn't have the interest in lead calves or even doing chores consistently with his feeder pen while his scrawny little brother is 12 years old just loves the cattle and helping out his dad and grandpa on the farm. Not sure why his dad even bothers letting him do 4-H beef anymore since he definitely is not earning the money he gets from the sale of those steers and his grandpa definitely not happy about it either. Growing up if we wanted to show cattle we had to do the work else dad would threaten turn them lose in the pasture with the rest of the cows. Not trying to rip on today's parents because I'm sure there are a lot of good kids and parents out there that are putting in the work but seems like there are becoming more of the spoiled lazy brat types and mom and dad will just do the work because they are still living their show dreams as a kid through their own kids.
