Subject: RE: Two row peanut combine comaprison and preference

Not opposed to one but have been told the HI-Cap models were more complicated to maintain, keep up than other models. The square basket mechanism was a draw back in someway,
Have heard a lot of good things about the Roanoke Hustler 5000 and Hobbs 8557. A ole time farmer who has run several models over the years says the 1500 Lilliston was the most simple and easiest picker to run , set and maintain. It was slower than the newer models but was steady and did a good job. He owned and operated the newer models in Lilliston , Roanoke , KMC but if he had to pick 1 out of all he had , he preferred the 1500 over the newer models of any make he had had , it was light weight and simple.
Several ole timers have told me the LONG Super Long done best all around job for green peanut picking machine, as in picking and cleaning and not bruising.
Everyone has opinions and preferences. Been told whenever considering buying older make peanut combine best to try to find another 1 or 2 to go with it for spare parts.
