Subject: RE: Ethanol on balance a very good thing

I wish people would knew how much subsides from the government go to the big oil companies! They keep that hush hush and the blender's credit (that has been gone for a couple years) went to the refiners not the ethanol producers. If it weren't for ethanol we would be paying at least a $1 more per gallon of gas. Ethanol has helped the corn price but was not the reason for $7 corn, that was the drought. Look at corn price now and we are still producing ethanol. I feed livestock and I use DDGs from the local ethanol plant. Ethanol takes out the strach and you still have DDGs, corn oil and CO2 left to market from the process. It has been a big boost to rural communities and provided a lot of jobs.
