My Dad taught me that any time you borrow money to operate or for any reason you are under the thumb of the lender.  Period.  Dad was for independent living and he would rather drive an older car that was paid for and never borrow money for a new one unless he had the cash.  Dad was about 50 years ahead of dear old Dave R. LOL.
