Southern IN | If you want to take out loans, your going to have to find a bank that has a more farmer clientele. I would't drop them, some times its handy to have more than one bank. I have an account in one bank that pays higher interest, but the customers are non farm. Any type of farm loan would be hopeless with them, try to explain how farm finances work and they look at you like your from Mars. In my younger days I used to get a kick out of depositing my grain check in this non farm bank just after I left the elevator. I would walk in, dusty, dirty, dried sweat from sweeping the last bin. They would look at me, then look at the check, and there eyes would about bug out of their head. They would get the manager, hold on the check of course. Now the farm friendly bank, they don't even bat an eye. Don't put a hold on the check either. |
