Subject: Ethanol on balance a very good thing

Driftless SW Wisconsin

Rather than try to interpret the OP, I think on balance ethanol is a very good thing for all of us. It has done wonders for many rural towns and areas. And where would corn prices be without it right now and in the near future.  Ethanol was NOT the main culprit in $7 corn.

So now feeders are to blame ethanol for high calf prices???  Hogwash.  The USA beef herd has been declining for decades and not because of ethanol!  Cattle numbers and biology are responsible for finally profitable (to the cow/calf operator) calf prices.  Fat prices must eventually increase to cover higher input (feeder calf) prices.

Seems like some people always need something to complain about.
