That's good to know about the rye. In the early spring the cows start turning up their noses at dry hay before the pastures are ready. I'm hoping the rye will fill a bit of a grazing gap then. I can let them eat it right down then spring strip till next years silage corn into it. I will be moving a few bred yearling heifers to join this cow group Should be interesting! Evidently a lot of folks planting rye into silage ground around here now. My local feed store has a LOT of rye seed on hand. Thanks. Jim |
