Cullom, Illinois | One thing I've noticed in my confinement cattle barn is the rubber slats can get kind of slick. Which leads to injury if they get excited and try to run. They kind of spin out and fall. So, every group ends up with one or two with sore hocks. I move them to the vet pen (lime floor, no concrete)as soon as I notice. Vet treats them with long term antibiotic but have yet to cure one. Usually the swelling doesn't go down and they continue to limp. End up butchering them. Anyone have a better remedy? | |
