I can't type, that should have said Northwest Nebraska.
No doubt, row crops killed a large chunk of the cows In Eastern Nebraska & Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois.
Will be interesting to see how many of the hills go back to grass this fall with corn under $3.
no problem I reread your original posting & figured out you ment northwest NE, but yeah my area in Se NE lost a majority of the pasture acres to rowcrops the past 7 years & alot of it won't be put back to grass, its a shame that it happened, we bought a 1/4 of virgin grass 3 years ago we had rented for 20+ years & thought of tearing it up but didn't,gave $3700/acre for it at the time land was at its high in my area but glad we left it to grass now
