Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.........A good looking cow to you may be a show kind of cow, and a good looking to the next guy may be a working girl.  To the right owner, either one can pay the bills.  HERE, when a herd is advertised as Registered, it seems the average dairyman stays away because the perception is they will bring a premium, but in reality, IMO, plenty of the herds that are registered, should not advertise that they are, because they sell for less money.  Unless they are something quite special, registering animals is a waste of time and money, but some put a great deal of pride into it.  We have a registered herd, and do an amount of flushing and genomic test an amount of animals, and sell bulls for breeding to other dairymen and studs, but only the top 5 to 10 percent really needs a paper, as the rest of the herd is a possible surrogate mother.
