| After buying corn and meal the last several years, never did have my supplers feel sorry for me, just had to suck it up and sharpen the pencil. Lots of updates and equipment put on hold, no vacation, 10 year old pickup etc. Even had to burn a little equity to get through it. A few real tough meetings with the bankers. No subsidized crop insurance on livestock, or direct payments either. Only had a couple year to lock-in a $5ish/bu. if one wanted to.Now it seems like some of the whining going on that prices would have been low for years, not just the last few months. | |
