That is not true. Slaughter weights of hogs are up because of a combination of cheap corn and high prices of pork. I don't know but the same is probably true of beef. Last spring I understood meet exports are still strong. I don't know but they must be good yet the way prices are. The turn of pigs I just finished is 25 lbs heavier than the turns last year. Pigs and poultry are one of the bright spots in grain consumption since they can respond faster to prices than beef.
