The suppliers "Ace in the hole" so to speak, is that farmers dislike paying taxes. So they will sit tight on prices until next year. The farmer must decide if they prepay for inputs, buy more paint or pay the deferred taxes. The downside of delaying taxes. At some point that must be unwound, and it isn't easy.
