Do you think inputs are going down?

Why it's so difficult like automakers do when sales go down and stock rise they adjust the production, can we adjust crop area?

Can we adjust crop area?

Nope! We will plant as much if not more even if inputs stay the same and corn goes to 50 cents. I know this because it's been preached on here many times.

We don't have to leave land sit empty to adjust crop area. There are many alternatives. If things don't change it's going to be a question of what crop to plant that will loose the least money. The other alternative is to rent or sub rent the land to a land grabber. Even if you only profit $10-$20 per acre, it's better than a loss per acre.
