West of Lincoln a little bit | ya, isn't it great how we get to pay property taxes on the higher value, but the bankers only count the low value. Seems like we nailed from both ends.
We paid $11,000 for a 34,000 bu bin, used and old, a few years ago, then added the floor, electrical and sweep as extra. Moved it and put it up ourselves. Consider it a great deal, and we weren't the only ones interested. Brand new are almost $2/bushel complete. I think your banker is off, because everyone wants more storage and you could get 30cents/bu without much trouble and without auction fees. Especially the bigger ones, but even a smaller drying bin has use. Maybe your new banker forgot there are some small time farmers out there who don't need giant setups.
But then again, that's "here"
