Centre county Pennsylvania, USA | My point was/is that USDA's historic corn yield data, when expressed as percent of trend yield, shows that county level corn yield is not based on national corn yield. That's no big surprise to most actual corn farmers, but the persistent and significant difference between county and national corn yield, as a percent of their respective trend yield, was a surprise to me.
Sorry for the confusion. Although not addressed in that yield data mining example, price is also an important element of corn farming. |
